I know that most of this part of our country is controlled by agribusiness, which is as much of an evil empire (IMHO) as the tobacco industry, and those beautiful green alfalfa fields are most likely the fruit of proprietary genetically modified seed. But still I have to acknowledge that there is something so clean and pure about this part of the country. There's a feeling that you can know who you are and be free. It gives me hope.
And to that very point, just before the sunset, we came upon the most amazing art installation. Almost a mile of salvaged metal art lining the highway. Quirky. Fun. Unexpected. The fruit of a talented artist that I wish I could have met. (To tell you the truth, if I hadn't had to get to a bathroom so bad, I would have gone up the driveway and knocked on the door. TMI?) Anyway, here's a few pics.
