...gone to look for America

Sunday & Monday - The Columbia River Gorge

5/21/2014

We drove up through northern California and Oregon through changing landscapes. First there was forested regions--the Lassen National Forest was especially beautiful as we drove through it at dusk. We spent the night in Klamath Falls in Oregon, and headed north the next morning. The landscape became more mountainous as we got nearer the Columbia River and the border with Washington. But the hills were green and beautiful, and I think some of the most gorgeous land I've seen was on this leg of the journey. The Columbia River has to be one of my all-time favorite bodies of water. It is truly spectacular. We spent the night in The Dalles and then followed the river east. Darryl and Ann, you were right about this sight! I wouldn't have wanted to miss it...Roll on, Columbia, Roll on.

Did you go thru Bend, OR? My niece lives there and works at Sisters Quilt Store.
